Inventing is not the hard part. Scaling is.

The central message from the ASU panel at One Year Stronger: Celebration of Startups, TiE Phoenix at Arizona Startup Week, April 2026, moderated by board member Raghu Santanam.

WHAT CLOSES THE GAP, ACCORDING TO THE PANEL
01

Experienced operators

Fractional talent and seasoned founding team members are often the difference between a promising prototype and a real company.

02

Support networks that stick around

Sustained mentorship, community accountability and warm introductions to capital drive long-term success.

03

A culture that celebrates commercialization

The mindset shift toward market impact is happening, but it needs to accelerate.
